Yvonne has been a practicing Physical Therapist for 15 years. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics, aquatic therapy and womans’ health for 10 years, inpatient orthopedics, cardio, and neuro and rehab settings for 3 years. She taught anatomy and physiology for 6 years.
She is specializing in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging and will complete her Certification as a Posture Exercise Professional (CPEP) November 2017. She believes in a gentle approach to therapy that works with your body to treat movement disorders and muscle weakness while maximizing function and minimizing pain.
She completed her Doctoral Studies with a thesis titled, “Effect of increased intraabdominal pressure when heavy lifting with a head strap on the pelvic floor across the menstrual cycle.” This study was inspired by her time living and working in Nepal. Originally from Canada, she has lived and worked in California, Washington, Oregon, Nepal and Alaska.
Her pride and joy are her amazing husband, nine-year-old daughter and three-year-old son. Utqiagvik is a wonderfully unique place to call home. She looks forward to many more Arctic adventures and meeting your rehabilitation needs.
