Dr. James Harris

Dr. James Harris, D.C. grew up in a military home. At the early age of three years old, his dad was transferred to Ft. Richardson, AK, and ever since then he has considered Alaska his home. Over the years he lived in several locations, including Eagle River, Chugiak, Anchorage, and Fairbanks. He attended high school at Anchorage Christian Schools and met his wife at his local church. They are blessed to have four children, one girl and three boys which he describes as, “controlled chaos”.

Dr. Harris graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Justice Administration. He completed his Master’s degree at Liberty University in Executive Leadership. Dr. Harris started his career in Law Enforcement as a Federal Police Officer at the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. He is grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and protect those who serve and protect our country. Dr. Harris always appreciated the benefit of chiropractic care especially from the aches and pains as a police officer being put in very physical situations; he experienced first-hand the recuperative power of chiropractic care and physical rehabilitation.

Dr. Harris soon realized that he wanted to help others just like him. He decided to go back to school to obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida so he can serve all those who wish to treat their pain naturally instead of just succumbing to it. Dr. Harris is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He has obtained Chiropractic licenses from the Virginia Board of Medicine, Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine, and Alaska Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Harris is also certified in Functional Movement Techniques (FMT) Performance Kinesiology Taping and completed training for National DOT Certified Medical Examiners.

Dr. Harris has treated patients of all generations from days old to those in their twilight years. Having four children of his own piqued his interest in pediatric care and he enjoys treating babies and children, who he considers as some of his best patients. Dr. Harris has extensive experience working in chiropractic sports & rehabilitation treating local sports teams, semi and professional athletes, and of course all weekend warriors. He became a Clinical Preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program at George Mason University so he may share his knowledge and experience.

Dr. Harris is passionate about helping patients improve their overall health through chiropractic, physical rehabilitation, and nutrition. He is excited to serve the greater Eagle River Community with personable family-centered chiropractic care. He invites you to be part of our Eagle River Arctic Chiropractic Family
